What fishing gear should I bring?

As an experienced angler you should bring whatever gear you are comfortable with. However, at Coolabah we recommend a 6-10kg rod, 3000-4000 fishing reel with 20 to 30 pound line spin or bait casting rod.

Can I kayak/canoe on the river beyond the Coolabah property?

Absolutely. There are many kilometres of the Beardy Waters River beyond Coolabah to fish, explore and enjoy. Beyond the Coolabah section of the river you must stay on the river and not set foot on land as this is private property.

What is the maximum amount of people that can come?

The Kelly Cabin has accommodation for up to  6 (six) people. However, we can accommodate more with tents or swags. We do recommend only 4 (four) people fishing on the Coolabah section of the river at any time.

Can I bring my dog?

On fishing trips and for visits to the Kelly Cabin only we do accept dogs.

Do I need a fishing licence?

ALL persons fishing WILL require a NSW Fishing License.

Can I bring my own quad or side by side?

We prefer our customers NOT bring any recreational vehicles.

Can I bring a caravan?

We can allow up to one caravan at any one time.

Off Road only vehicles as Coolabah has 3 kilometers of unsealed dirt roads.

What is the vehicle access to the property?

There is approximately 3 kilometres of dirt road from Emmaville Road to the Kelly Cabin. We recommend 4WD or SUV with suitable tyres.

What is the closest airport?

Armidale airport is located 130 kilometres and we can arrange transfers should you require.
