Hunting Tours FAQs
Each hunter will need an Australian Firearms License and an SSAA License (except bow hunters).
We recommend that you bring a centre fired rifle no smaller than 0.243. We recommend 0.308, 30-6 and 300 win mag are most suitable to the Coolabah conditions.
We have a maximum of 4 (four) hunters per group.

No. Coolabah will only have one hunting group on the property at any time.
Yes. If you wound an animal and it is not recovered the full trophy fee is still payable.

We recommend that hunters bring/wear camouflage gear for hunting purposes. Temperatures during the winter months can dip below freezing so very warm clothing is also recommended.
We prefer hunters not to bring their own dogs.
We prefer hunters not to bring their recreational off-road vehicles.
We can allow up to one caravan at any one time. Off Road only vehicles as Coolabah has 3 kilometers of unsealed dirt roads.
There is approximately 3 kilometres of dirt road from Emmaville Road to the Kelly Cabin. We recommend 4WD or SUV with suitable tyres.
Armidale airport is located 130 kilometres and we can arrange transfers should you require.
Yes. We do always encourage you to enjoy it in moderation.
Yes. However we also provide all linens and towels in the Kelly Cabin.
Yes, we are affiliated with an excellent local Taxidermist. Many mount types are available to the discerning hunter.
