Coolabah Hunting Tours

We offer guided and catered fallow deer hunting adventures. Whether a rifle hunter or bow hunter you will be paired with an experienced guide who knows the property to ensure the best opportunity to get the animal you desire.

With access to over 1000 acres, herds of up to 80 fallow deer can quite often be seen. Coolabah has up to four first class hunting blinds which will be used during your hunt, and these will provide an optimum chance of success.

During the fallow deer rut (croak), which is generally in April. This will provide the hunter the optimum chance to shoot a trophy stag. If you desire to take a meat animal your guide will skin, gut, butcher and cryovac the animal so that you will leave with a freezer full of the most mouth-watering venison that Australia has to offer. Stags are available to hunt throughout the hunting season also.

We will also provide you will two fully cooked meals per day, of the finest quality ensuring that you will feel completely satisfied.

What to Bring

  • We recommend that you bring a centre fire rifle no smaller than 0.243 caliber. Most suitable to Coolabah conditions are 0.308, 30-06 and 300 win mag rifles.
  • We also require that each hunter bring their Australian Firearms License and SSAA License / Membership. This is not required for bow hunters. Suitable hunting camouflage gear and very warm clothing are also essential.
  • Temperatures in winter on Coolabah dip below freezing regularly.

     

  • Any snacks and drinks of your choice that may fall outside the catered menu of your tour.

The Kelly Cabin is a hidden gem nestled on the bank of the Beardy Waters River located at the eastern edge of Coolabah.
